Microsoft Pulls Windows 10 Build Believed to Be 19H1 RTM

While Microsoft is expected to sign off the Windows 10 19H1 (version 1903) RTM sometimes this week, the company has just pulled a Slow ring build that was believed to a release candidate.

Windows 10 build 18362 was pushed to the Slow ring on March 22, and shortly after this release, the company confirmed that a number of users hit error code 0x80242016 when installing the update from Windows Update.

And in a statement this week, Dona Sarkar, head of the Windows Insider program, explains that an issue in one of the cumulative updates released for Slow ring insiders broke down the update process.

“Over the last couple of weeks, Insiders in the Slow ring have been receiving new 19H1 builds in addition to also receiving Cumulative Updates. After flighting Build 18362 to the Slow ring on Friday, Insiders began reporting they were unable to complete the update.
