Samsung Galaxy S7 Allegedly Explodes Even Without Being Connected to a Charger

While it appears that Samsung has more or less addressed the issue of exploding phones on the latest-generation models, reports pointing to such incidents make the headlines every once in a while.

This weekend, a Nigerian Samsung customer revealed on Twitter that his phone caught fire all of a sudden, even without being connected to a charger.

Photos that he published on the social network show the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge with damages to both the front and the back glass, and there are signs that the explosion occurred from the place where the battery would normally be.

Obviously, it’s hard to determine the cause of the incident by simply looking at some photos, but given the screen burn, it all seems to point to an issue with the battery.
